Kacey and Dustin went to the Doctor this morning for a routine sonogram of the twins at 24 weeks. Kaiya's heart was not beating and they think it may have stopped a day or two ago because she is now the same size as Roman. Kaiya measures 1 lb 6 oz & Roman is 1 lb 7 oz.
We do not know what caused this or why but Kacey has been admitted to the hospital where she and Roman are being monitored. Everything looks normal, (other than Kaiya's heartbeat is still) Kacey's water has not broken. They have taken blood and are running all kinds of tests. The specialist will see her in the morning to give us his opinion.
We need to pray that Kaiya's sack will not rupture, to open up for infection to Roman and Kacey. Pray for Roman to stay in each day and for protection over him.
Kacey's cervix is now shortend to a 3.46 and her Dr has obviously put her on complete bedrest for now. I will be doing posts every few days as we know more.

....And so we HOPE in the Lord, who controls everything and has His hand around everyone!

Oh my goodness...my heart sunk when I read this. I will be praying for all of you!! ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteWhitney...I am so very sorry to hear this...how heartbreaking/shocking....I will def say my prayers and please let her know that I am thinking of her....I met a girl when I did my first IVF and she became pregnant with twins...had a normal pregnancy until 24weeks her water broke with one of the twins so they had to deliver them both...they were both a little over a pound....but alive...they were born in April.....the one twin made it home just 3 weeks ago but his brother who has struggled on and off this entire time was scheduled to come home but then developed a life threatening event called nec and passed away....so my friend is experiencing the loss of her twin after 4 months of life...Very very sad...I know Kayce will get through this as her faith will keep her a float....Once again Im so sorry to hear this news:(
ReplyDeleteIm so sad, so confused...its a nightmare today...But I do know that God is God and He is in control and there is a reason...Im so proud of how you have carried yourself down this long journey and even today...You are so strong Kiki and you truly are my hero! The peace that surrounds you is unbelievable! You and Dustin are loved by so many....and prayed for by so many...I just cant make sense of this... I love you so much! whit

ReplyDeleteI pray the Lord wraps his hands around tiny Roman and keeps his precious son safe right now. I have no words, I am so heartbroken for you about sweet Kaiya. I am so so sorry. Praying for you guys with all my heart.
