Babies Getting Big!

Wow, 15 weeks...unbelieveable! I've really started to enjoy my pregnancy and relax a lot more since our specialist appt. I am soooooooo excited to find out what we're having, but last night I was talking to Dustin about how much I'm enjoying kinda not knowing. He agreed because we can play around the 3 scenarios in our minds. We DO want to find out though! I have our final names posted to the left. I love them all!!!

Just for fun this Saturday I'm going to do the Intelligender. You buy it at walgreens for about $40.00 and it checks for the Y chromosone...so it tells you boy or girl. With twins if it turns the girl color it means you're having two girls, and if it turns the boy color you know that it is atleast one boy. I've always wanted my friends to do it to see if it really worked.

My best friend Lana who is pregnant a few days behind me found out she's having a BOY!!! A few weeks ago we did the "Draino" prediction test and it said boy for both of us. I think that's why recently I've been thinking I'm having either 2 boys or 1 girl/1 boy.

Six more days til the gender reveal party at our house. I'm making all the plans for it and it will be a BIG event!!! No one has said that couldn't come so far, so it puts us at 67 adults and 19 kids/babies!!!! It will be a full house! I'm so excited to find out along with all our friends and family. With as long as our journey was and so many people supported us and prayed for us for the entire 3 years, I couldn't think of a better way for all of us to find out except TOGETHER!!

Here's what's going on with our babies this week!

The babies can grasp, squint, frown, swallow, and even suck their thumb (our smaller baby was doing this at the last ultrasound)! We've started talking to the babies because they can now hear our voices. They measure 4.5 inches (crown to rump length...butt to head) and weigh 2-3 ounces each. They are about the size of a navel orange. I'm feeling really good, and I've gained 11 lbs. My goal is to not gain more than 45 lbs. With this goal, I can gain 1.5 lbs a week until the end of my pregnancy.

Last chance to vote on guess what we're having to the left...it will also let you change your vote if you want to. Next time I post I'll be posting what are family of four is going to be! The picture I've dreamed of in my mind for so many years will be clear!!!!!!

Hallelujah

I'm 14 weeks and in 2 weeks we'll find out what they are!! We're going to have friends and family over June 2nd and find out all together at once including us. We'll pop in the DVD from that day and we will not have looked at it. The specialist said both sac sizes looked the same to him!! Either one caught up or the different angle of a stomach ultrasound revealed that they were both the same. One baby is 2 days behind, but he wasn't worried about that at all. I am so happy!!! I haven't felt this happy the entire pregnancy ever since we found out that there could be a problem. One baby's heartrate was 162 and one baby's heartrate was 149. Introducing Baby A and Baby B!!!

This is our "bigger baby" measuring 13 weeks 6 days heartrate 162 (baby is turning head all the way to the side-our left...his/her right- so you can see his/her profile)

This is our "smaller baby" measuring 13 weeks 4 days heartrate 149 (baby is laying on his/her back so you can see his/her profile and his/her leg and foot!)

This is our "smaller baby"waving at us telling us..."Don't worry...I'm fine!!" I think this baby is the one who will give us a hard time growing up :)

I've gained 9 pounds! My nausea has subsided. I still get nauseous but not near as bad as it was last week. As long as I eat every 2 hours it helps. The babies are about the size of a clenched fist (each baby). On top of the head the baby might be sprouting some hair. Eyebrow hair is filling in now.

I can not say THANK YOU enough for all your prayers and support!!

13 Weeks and Feelin' It!

I wanted to share what an awesome moment was captured the other week. My sister Whitney and niece Aydia went with me when I got my 12 week maternity pics done. They weren't there for pictures, just to stand by and help. Greg the photographer did capture one candid pic of them though! This was not a planned photo...just a candid shot! See the pics below.

(above: My sister Whitney in July '79, 29 mths old)
Wrapped around your mommy's leg, is a safe place to stand. You cant get much closer to the safest haven you were formed in.Your moms legs carried you while God was forming you. And they are also bent every night in prayer, over the miracle they have been entrusted with.
(below: Aydia (Whitney's daughter) in May 2010, 29 mths old)

Whitney just happened to run across the picture of her a few days later at her house. How crazy is that?! They have their hands folded the same way...pig tails...their hair even parts at the same spot...holding onto the mothers same leg...same knees bent...same shy face...and exact same AGE! It just goes to show that your children's mannerisms, looks, etc are more like you than you think!

I'm 13 weeks today, and I am feelin' it! I made a promise to myself that if I ever was pregnant that I would never post about the complaints of morning sickness because I remember how hard it was for me to read those posts when I would give anything in the world to be pregnant and would read other's posts and it seemed like they complained more than knowing how blessed they were. So...let me start this off by stating that I would be sick every day for a year, if I knew I would be pregnant in return! With that said...the morning sickness has set in. I thought I would be in the clear once hitting 13 weeks, but at about 12 weeks 3 days it really set in! I thought I had caught a virus, but now after 5 days of throwing up and feeling nauseous any time I step out of my bed (yes I'm in bed all day long) I've accepted the reality that its the pregnancy. NOTHING sounds good to eat at all throughout the day. It's actually worse at night time than the morning. I'm doing the ginger-ale and the ginger snap cookies (gross), and I'm really trying anything before turning to nausea medicine. I will if I have to, but I hope I don't. I decided if I get sick more than once a day then I will get some medicine, but until then I'm going to try to get through this without it.

It's not stopping me from gaining weight though! I've gained 8 pounds already! My stomach seems about the same size (probably because I've been getting sick). By now my babies are about 3 inches long and weigh nearly an ounce each. Their tiny, unique fingerprints are now in place. Facial features are becoming more clearly defined. The eyes and ears have reached their final positions. The brain is developing rapidly. The first hairs of the baby's scalp and eyebrows often appear at this stage. Your baby's intestines are migrating from the umbilical cord into his or her abdomen. The villi are also forming in the intestines, these help in peristaltic movements and digestion. The pancreas of your little one is even secreting insulin! Meconium-the baby's first stool, is developing. All 20 teeth have formed.

I hope I get to feeling better soon, but remember I'm not Complaining!! We have our appt with the specialist next Wed. Please pray for good news, and for me to have peace because I am already getting very nervous!

12 Weeks! End of 1st Trimester!!!

I can't believe I'm 12 weeks! This is a huge milestone for me! Today is me and Dustin's 5 year anniversary!!! I woke up to flowers and a sweet card this morning. I feel so blessed at this moment knowing that after 5 years of marriage we are starting our family. Family of 4 that is!

Wednesday I had my appt with Dr. Daum. The babies are getting so big!! The smaller baby (baby A for now) is only 2 days behind now! The bigger baby is actually measuring 1 day ahead now! The only concern is that the smaller baby's sac is still very small compared to the bigger baby's sac. He wants me to see a neonatologist just so we can get a 2nd pair of eyes on this from the beginning. I know its very common for a twin pregnancy to see a neonatologist early on. I'm glad to get another opinion on this. I asked Dr. Daum..."I'm still going to have 2 babies, right?" and he answered "Oh yes". Our appt with the specialist is set for May 19th. I then will see Dr. Daum on June 2nd and we'll find out the sexes!!!

At the appt, the smaller baby gave me and Dustin a shot eye view between his/her legs...so much that I was like..."Am I not supposed to see this?!" The baby moved quickly and the Dr. didn't even see it b/c he wasn't looking at the screen. It looked like a ball sac (sorry tmi)...not a penis, but definitely something! I don't know if this is what boys or girls look like at this stage. Dustin and I watched the DVD when we got home, and we can't tell which it would be. We decided that the night of June 2nd we'll have our friends and family over and we'll watch the DVD together and find out all at the same time (including us) on what we're having! That way we'll get to see the body parts! Both babies were moving around, but the smaller baby (like always) was the most active!! Bigger baby's heart rate was 177 and smaller baby's heart rate was 169.

Yesterday was the National Day of Prayer. Out by Dustin's Grandad's grave there is a huge statue of praying hands. For our 5 year anniversary, my sister Whitney had the idea of taking a picture of me by this statue holding my belly and giving it to Dustin. They turned out really cool! These pictures are a symbol of what is going on in my head every day. Even more special, they were taken steps away from where Grandad's body lays. He knew we were having twins, and I know he's watching over us too!

I cherish each and every day that I carry our children in my belly. I know 12 weeks may seem a little early for belly shots, but Greg Petty Photography (gregpettyphotography.com) said that he would like to take belly pictures of me throughout my pregnancy! If you want to view all the photos go to his website and click on clients and then K Pierson. I'm going to do them at 12 weeks, 22 weeks, and 35 weeks. So instead of me posting the regular belly shots I've been posting each week; for this special 12 week milestone here are some of the photos he took yesterday. He does an AWESOME job! Thanks again Greg!!

Me holding my Faith, Cross, Miracles, Mom charm!

Please continue to pray for our sweet angel babies!! Pray specifically for the smaller baby's sac to grow.

Boy/Girl consuming my mind!!!

I've always loved the anticipation and excitement of finding out what other people are having. I love to guess, and about a year ago I came across the Chinese Birth Calendar. There are different ones, but to find the one I found that has been right over and over again go to google and put it chinese birth calendar gender and press enter. The 1st site that pulls up (webwomb is in the web address) is it. I know this is mainly for fun and games, but it sure is fun! All my friends that I've been right on ask me..."so what does it say for you?" Well it says if I concieved in Feb a boy and if I concieved in March a girl. Our egg and sperm "met" on Feb. 25th and our embryo's were put in me on March 2nd probably implanted March 3rd. So what does that mean for me??? I know that God knows and knew what we would have before we even started this process. Not knowing is driving me crazy!!! I would LOVE any of the 3 scenarios that it could be.

My friend that is pregnant and I did the "Draino" gender test. Both of ours indicated boy (so for me it would mean atleast 1 boy if its right)

I'm also going to do the INTELLIGENDER that I bought at CVS, but I can't do it until I stop my progesterone for 10 days.

2 boys would be so cute! Dustin would be over the moon! I would love to dress up two little men. He's always thought even before we started IVF that we would have twin boys. Since I'm so good at guessing what everyone else having, everyone's asking me "what do you think?" I have NO idea!!! For a couple of weeks everywhere I went I ran into someone that had twin boys. At the pharmacy...the cashier says "I have twin boys!" and the lady behind me in line then says "I have twin boys too!" Dustin and I checked out the NICU at the hospital we'll be at and sure enough, twins boys were laying there. I wonder if this was a sign?

1 Boy and 1 Girl would just be too good to be true! Of course I would love to have 1 Boy and 1 Girl! This is what our family's are saying we're having and the majority of friends and the quiz results on my blog. Also the night before Grandad died, he asked Dustin "what would you like a boy or a girl...I think you're having twins!" This makes me think maybe he knew we would have one of each.

2 Girls would be so awesome!! My aunt who has intuitions on what people are having and dates and such says its 2 girls. She told me 2 years ago that I would get pregnant in February and that I would have twins! Before we started trying 3 years ago, I really wanted to have a girl. Even to the point where I have quite a good wardwrobe started for a girl because I would buy close just knowing we would have a girl and that we would get pregnant right away! Boy was I wrong!

I used to have everything planned out in my life (the age I'd be when I got married, the age I'd be when I graduated college, that I'd be 28 when I had my 1st child and 30 for the 2nd) and for a while things were going according to my plan. I heard one day...if you wanna see God laugh, then tell him your plan! Now I don't plan to the extent I used to. IT'S GOD'S PLAN and I'm just along for the ride!

In about 4 weeks we will find out what God's plan is for us to have. We will not find out at the Dr's office. We'll have him write it down in an envelope and give that envelope to a lady who will make us 2 cakes with clues in each. We'll then have friends and family over and one by one they will read a clue out of the cake. At the end we'll find out what we're having WITH our friends and family!!! Like I said any scenario we would LOVE so it will be one exciting night!!!!! We feel so blessed.

So after reading this post what do you think we're having? You can change your vote if you want to on the quiz...it will let you.
