6 Weeks!

I can't believe I'm 6 weeks pregnant today! 1 week from today we have our ultrasound to see if its 1 or 2 babies!!! The picture above is a real picture of a 6 week old fetus. Its so incomprehensible to my human brain! I feel really good. Not alot of symptoms. I've been pretty tired the last couple of days. I know I shouldn't be showing right now, but my stomach definitely has a bump! It may be from my medication, I don't know! I'll post pics later. Thank you for your prayers, and please pray for strong heartbeats on April 1st!

What is being developed:
The arms and legs continue to develop-these limbs are stretching out more and more. Brain is growing well. Lenses of the eyes appear. If you could catch a glimpse inside, you would notice your baby's appearance becoming increasing like like a newborns. Nostrils are formed-the position of the nose seems to shift into its proper place as well. Intestines grow-initially these are actually located outside the baby's body withing the umbilical cord.

I Will Be A Wonderful Mother

I read some of the thoughts listed below from another girls blog...and added some of my own.

There are women that become mothers without effort, without thought, without patience or loss. This is such a blessing from God to not have to go through what I went through. But from another perspective...I wouldn't trade it for the world. I look at what I've been through as a blessing from God. I have longed and waited. I have cried and prayed. I have endured and planned over and over again. Then it dawned on me that it is not my plan...it is His Plan. Like most things in life, the people who truly have appreciation are those who have struggled to attain their dreams. I will notice everything about my child. I will take time to watch my child sleep, explore and discover. I will marvel at this miracle every day for the rest of my life. I will be happy when I wake in the middle of the night to the sound of my child, knowing that I can comfort, hold and feed them and that I am not waking to take another tempertature, pop another pill, take another shot, or cry tears of a broken dream. My dream will be crying for me. I count myself blessed that God has given me this insight, this special vision with which I will look upon my child. I will be a better mother for all that I have endured. I am a better wife, a better aunt, a better daughter, neighbor, friend and sister because I have known pain. I know disillusionment as I have been betrayed by my own body. I have been tried by fire and hell many never face, yet given time, I stood tall. I have prevailed!

So now, when others hurt around me, I do not run from their pain in order to save myself discomfort. I see it mourn it, and join them in theirs. I listen. And even though I cannot make it better, I can make it less lonely. I have learned the immense power of another hand holding tight to mine, of other eyes that moisten as they learn to accept the harsh truth, and when life is beyond hard. I have learned a compassion that only comes with walking in those shoes. I have learned to appreciate life.

Yes I will be a wonderful mother.

Songs written from my Heart

While I was on bedrest after my transfer, another item on my bucket list was that I wanted to write my own song....so I wrote two songs during the 3 days. I haven't put a melody to them yet...but these are the words.

Through my journey the past 3 years, my relationship with God has been strenghthened to a point where I thirst for more and more. I keep mentioning the peace I feel now. This peace is from God.

I read a great entry off another girl's blog the other day, and I wanted to share some of her words to those of you out there who are still going down this rocky road.

Some days it's hard to have "hope." I have had my days on this journey of 3 years where I couldn't find the hope, sometimes it's easy to think God has forgotten you. After years of praying and waiting patiently, it's hard to have hope that one day your dreams and prayers will be answered. I do not know the reason why God chooses certain people to go down certain paths; our faith gets stretched in all directions...and although our hope can disappear at times, it's hope that kept me going... hope of that positive pregnancy test... hope for that first ultrasound... hope for that first kick ... hope for being able to give birth to a healthy baby... although God tested our faith, I have hope that this journey will bring us our desire to be parents...

I have the same hope and faith that you will be next!!! Keep your eyes on Jesus every day and He will carry you through. I will be praying for all of you as a whole. Below are the words to the two songs I wrote before I knew I was pregnant.

"Journeys"

Nothing in life is by accident
We go through each day having confidence
In knowing,
Jesus is near, we shall not fear
Because His plan will be revealed

He'll hold you, He'll guide, He'll never lead you astray
Just trust Him, and seek Him, and do this everyday
Be still and know that He isGod
By knowing this you'll never fall

His timing has a purpose so just "let it go"
Surrender all your fears and give Him control
Remember,
Jesus is near, we shall not fear
Because His plan will be revealed

With each journey, His glory shines through
How you choose to use it, its all up to you
Its laid out before you in perfect harmony
Embrace it and Share it, the Holy Trinity

He'll hold you, He'll guide you, He'll never lead you astray
Just trust Him, and seek Him, and do this everyday
Be still and know that He is God
By knowing this you'll never fall

"Child of Mine"

A million prayers have gone up in hopes of you
We ask ourselves do dreams really come true
We have your names and we even have your clothes
And now we give up control

Because you are not a child of mine
You are His, just ours for awhile
He is your Father, He loves you more
He is your everything, He is your core

You are our world, you're more than we could ask for
We will protect you, comfort, and devote our lives to you
We will never stop loving you
but ultimately He has control

Because you are not a child of mine
You are His, just ours for awhile
He is your Father, He loves you more
He is your everything, He is your core

Seek Him, Trust Him, Have Faith in Him
His promise is Yours

Because you are not a child of mine
You are His, just ours for awhile
He is your Father, He loves you more
He is your everything, He is your core

I love my Dr.!

I told Dr. Le that we had been praying for him. I emailed him a copy of the prayer that my sister Whitney wrote...Dear Lord,

Thank you for leading Kacey and Dustin to a Doctor who loves You and has acknowledged that he also believes that Your Will is what ultimately will unfold. Dr. le cares for Kacey and You have guided him to already be successful with her, in this process. He has shown such patience and love for the position that he is in. We pray for Dr. Le and the nurses who are involved in this transfer. May Your hands, be their hands this week.

In the song "The Healer" that I was listening to while he was placing the embryo's in me...there's a part in the song that reads "You hold my world in your hands"...

He replied back and cc'd everyone in the entire staff and wrote...

Wow, Kacey...thank you for such a touching message. And my heartfelt condolence to your family for the passing of your Grandad. I'm sure he is smiling from Heaven knowing that you are already pregnant. I'm just thrilled that it worked for you and your husband because I know that you will be great parents and deserve all the happiness. The entire clinic cheers to your success. Let us keep praying for His blessing. We all need His miracle. Take care and good luck,

Dr. Le MD

How often do you get a response like that from a doctor!!

Yesterday when the nurse was taking our blood she said that when they recieved that email...she said that there was not a dry eye in the clinic. Dr. Le then came and found us and gave us a hug, and said thank you again for the kind words. He said, your sister should be a preacher!! He again told us how very sorry he was for our Grandad, and said that I'm sure he's smiling down on you now. He said when he told his wife about our story she said that when her mother died...she came to her in a dream that night telling her that she would be ok.
I'm sure its not very often that people thank him for the work he does and for the dreams he helps make come true. I can tell it truly moved him, and that meant the world to me.

"I got my Beta Back Beta Back Beta Back Beta Back Beta Back Beta Back!"

We went in this morning to get our 2nd beta count. Our first count was 235...so they take your blood two days later to make sure the pregnancy is viable and progessing. They want to see it increase at least 60% within those two days. They told me they would call me by 12:00 and at 12:05 my phone rang. I was with both my sisters. Before I answered the phone I prayed...But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.-Matthew 6:33. Now let me share with you why I did this. My brother in law's mother told me that this is all I need to do and remember. Starting that day I prayed it every day. The 1st day after my "group prayer" at my house when I read my daily reading out of the daily devo that was given to me...it was this scripture! There were 3 important, nerveracking phone calls that I would be recieving in this process. 1) whether or not any embryos were fertilized-I prayed this when my phone rang with the call and the answer was "10 fertilized!!" 2) whether or not I was pregnant-I prayed this when my phone rang and the answer was..."your pregnant with a great number!!" 3) whether or not my counts were rising as they should to show a viable pregnancy-today when my phone rand I prayed this and the answer was..."your magic number is 485!!! We don't need to see you until 3 weeks on April 5th so we can see the heartbeat or heartbeats :) !" It more than doubled!!! I'm speechless!!!!!!! Thank you Jesus, thank you Jesus, thank you Jesus! Let my glory shine through!!!

Here is a short clip of Dustin toasting with the family of Grandad (Granny, Dustin's dad and mom, and his sisters, our nieces, and me) shortly after we told them we were pregnant. We were on an emotional roller coaster, but it was so nice to go back and share the great news at a time like this. I know Grandad was "toasting" with us! You may need to stop the music at the bottom so you can hear.

Today is a Beautiful Day!!!

Can somebody wake me up? I feel like I'm dreaming!!! I can't get the smile off of my face!

Grandads passing was a shock to us. He was getting better and was released from the main hospital the day before! He kept saying..."When can I go home and ride my scooter?" He also loved Kenny Chesney and while he was sick over the last couple of weeks, his favorite song to sing to us was "No Shoes...No Shirt...No problem!" He was a character and had us laughing til the very end!!!

Yesterday right after we heard that Grandad had passed away...while I was getting my bloodtest Dustin went to be by his Grandad's side while he was "resting peacefully" before they came to pick him up, Dustin texted me and said "I think your prego". He said a peace came over him, and for the 1st time he knew I was pregnant. He said he had never felt like this before. When I met up with him he said that when he was talking to his Grandad the day before the conversation went like this...

Dustin-"We find out tommorow if Kacey's pregnant!"
Grandad-"Well, what would you like to have...a boy or a girl?"
Dustin-"I don't care at all...I just want a baby!"
Grandad-"Well maybe it will be twins!" (as he looked at Dustin with a smirky grin)

Grandad was 96 and did not understand the IVF process and the greater chance of twins...so him saying this was pretty profound!

Grandad passed away in his sleep over the next 10-12 hours.

I wonder if Grandad knew?
Dustin said as he was sitting there with Grandad yesterday morning, that a peace came over him and he just felt that "I was pregnant". I know Grandad is smiling down on us!!

We are so sad, and we miss and will miss Grandad so much. At the same time, this is the happiest I have ever been!

You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing-Psalm 30:11

This picture was taken right after we recieved the phone call of the good news!!

HIS PLAN REVEALED

The Holy Spirit delights in revealing the truth through His word!
His mercies are new every morning!
Great is Thy Faithfulness!! (Lamentations 3:22-23)
I just want to shout it from the mountaintops!

I am PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My HCG/BETA number of 235 is a great solid number (twins?)
Our prayer now needs to be that my lining is thick enough to hold this baby (or babies) and that the number will atleast double by Saturday's blood test.
I can not thank you enough who have prayed and believed this with me!

Most Gracious and Heavenly Father, may your GLORY SHINE to the ends of the earth today and through this new life inside of me!
Whew, what an emotional day!
The circle of life is truly amazing!!

Today, my daily devotional reading says,
"YOU HAVE THE VICTORY!!!!"
Amen to THAT!

Grandad

We just got a call that Dustin's Grandad just passed away. He was 96. What an awesome man he was. We will miss you Grandad, and we love you!!! He's with his son Jim now...may God bless him and he rest in peace.

Dustin is on his way to see him, and I'm going to get my bloodtest then meeting up with Dustin and the family. Please pray for our family and Granny to be at peace today.

Tommorow Is The Day!

I have not taken a home pregnancy test, and I refuse to do it! The two times I was pregnant, it would be positive, and then over the next few days would turn negative...so even if I did take one and it was positive, I would be worried. I want to just do this one as the doctor has ordered and get the very reliable blood test done and go from there. I will post the results tommorow! Prayers needed and wanted!!! This is in God's hands. Please pray for me to be at peace with whatever the outcome.

My Inspiration

I wanted to share the words to the song that has inspired my faith and trust in Him. "Healer"-by Kari Jobe is what I listened to on my ipod while I was holding Dustin's hand and as they were putting the embryo's in.

Healer

You hold my every moment
You calm my raging seas
You walk with me through fire
And heal all my disease
I trust in You, Lord I trust in You

I believe You're my healer
I believe You are all I need
I believe

And I believe You're my portion
I believe You're more than enough for me
Jesus You're all I need

Nothing is impossible for You
Nothing is impossible
Nothing is impossible for You
You hold my world in Your hands

The next song are the words to "Beautiful" by Kari Jobe. I listen to both these songs at least once every day.

Beautiful

Here before Your alter
I am letting go of all I've held
Of every motive, every burden
Everything that's of myself

And I just wanna wait on You, my God
I just wanna dwell on who You are

Beautiful, beautiful
Oh, I am lost for more to say
Beautiful, beautiful
Oh Lord You're beautiful to me

Here in Your presence
I am not afraid of brokenness
To wash Your feet with humble tears
I would be poured out till nothing's left

And I just wanna wait on You, my God
I just wanna dwell on who You are

Holy, holy, holy You are, You are
Holy, holy, holy You are, You are
Holy, holy, holy You are, You are
Holy, holy, holy You are, You are

I highly recommend downloading these songs on your ipod!!!

3 more days til blood test!!
Today what should be going on in my body is...Placenta cells begin to secret HCG in the blood.
Please pray these specific words.
Jesus may your hand guide the placenta cells to secret HCG in my blood.

Dear Sweet Babies

Dear Sweet Babies,

We have dreamed of you for so long.
I wonder, are you a boy or a girl?
Will you have my eyes, or Dustin's lips?
I pray that God covers and protects you with his feathers. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.-Pslams 91:4.
Please snuggle in tight, we want to meet you!
I pray that my womb is a perfect place for you to grow.
We want to see your first breath of life, hear your first word, take your first step, hear the words "mommy" and "daddy", having those fantastic ordinary days with our family.
Right now, we can only dream of meeting you.
I love having you in my belly, and pray that you continue to stay there.
We have put our faith in God, and know that His timing is perfect.

Until we meet'

We Love You
Mommy and Daddy

Dear Lord,
Please continue to wrap your arms around me, and let me not worry. Help me sense your nearness. Help me sense your nearness so I don't feel so alone and overwhelmed with this. I am letting go of all I've held; every worry, every burden, everything that's of myself. I just want to wait on you my God, I just want to dwell on who you are.
Amen

Psalm 145:18
18 The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.

I am currently 4dpt (4 days past transfer). Please pray that my lining is sufficient and a perfect place for implantation to be successful!

1dpt....Blastocyst hatches out of shell on this day
2dpt.. Blastocyst attaches to a site on the uterine lining
3dpt.. Implantation begins,as the blastocyst begins to bury in the lining
4dpt.. Implantation process continues and morula buries deeper in the lining
5dpt.. Morula is completely inmplanted in the lining and has placenta cells & fetal cells
6dpt...Placenta cells begin to secret HCG in the blood
7dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
8dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
9dpt...HCG levels are now high enough to be immediately detected on HPT

Covered, Protected & Delivered

Wow. What an amazing experience! To this point this has been long (but short); scary (yet peaceful), trying (yet exciting). But the underlined theme that has been constant throughout the last 6 weeks is overwhelming peace. This peace is hard to put into words. Thats because it has been "the peace of God, which transends all understanding that has continually guarded my heart and mind."
(Phil 4:6&7) I strongly know that God will bless us with a child in His perfect timing. I pray that I do not impose my will on God, or bend His will to mine, but rather align my will with His. I pray that - in my prayers and in my life I will see His will, align with it, and rest in it.

As of today you can say that I am PUPO, that is "pregnant until proven otherwise." I have 2 of our precious babies inside of us as I type. On Tuesday morning, the day of the transfer, I woke up and started reading my daily devo. Of course it spoke to me loud and clear! The title of it is Covered, Protected and Delievered.
(How perfect is that?!) And my thought for the day read "All you need to do today is look up and keep your eyes on Jesus - your covering protection and deliverance.

We went to our acupuncture session and headed to the Dr. I knew the embryologist would meet with us first and then Dr Le. I didn't know how many, if any of our embryos made it. She walked in and Dustin was in the bathroom. She asked, "if I wanted to wait for him" I said, "yes." A few moments later I said, "just tell me if there are two we are putting in today?" She said, "YES!" Joy filled my heart! After a few more seconds, I knew Dustin didn't understand what the grades meant so I told her to go ahead and tell me the details. She then handed me a picture of the two embryos. She said, "Here is your first picture for your photo album!" Dustin walked in and I gave the picture to him. He couldn't stop starring at it.
Here THEY ARE!!!

The dark shadow in each circle is the baby. She then says, "they are both blastocysts." One is a 5AA, the other is a 4AA. I couldnt believe it! That is the best grade an embryo can get! On Sunday they were mostly all B's. She then tells me we have 6 other embryos that made it also! They are freezing them so we can give each of them a chance at life in the future! So, out of the 10 embryos that fertilized naturally, 8 of them made it! What a huge blessing! I was so happy, I hugged her! Dr Le came in and said, "WOW! they couldn't be any better and if I was a 29 yr old with a perfect uterus, he would say 80% that I would be pregnant and they would implant," but with me, he cant say because of my uterus. He also believes that it takes divine intervention to make the miracle happen, in any case.

As he was placing the embryos in I was holding Dustin's hand and listening to "Healer" by Kari Jobe, on my IPOD. Talk about a surreal moment (the tears did come) knowing that new life was being put in me and the reality that I could be giving birth to these babies in the same position, holding Dustins hand soon. It was not too painful and only took 10 minutes. Dustin said that "On the Wings of Love" -the corny Bachelor song- was being played on the office radio in the room during this (laughing).

I already love these babies so much...Dustin & I have even guessed the sex of each of them. We have done everything we can and now its in Gods hands. So now I rest. I rest my worries, anxieties, and thoughts. I rest and our babies rest in Gods hands. He has the power. Nothing is impossible for Him. He is my healer. He is all I need.

Thank you for your prayers, I feel them everyday. My ears start ringing at different times throughout eachday :) Thank you for being a huge part of our journey!
Seven DAYS and counting until we test.

10 Days of Prayer

The number 10 has come up a few times during this process. My starting Estrogen bloodcount was 10...we naturally fertilized 10 embryo's...my friend texted me last night and said a group of friends were going to be praying at 10:00 last night for us...and now in 10 days we will take the pregnancy blood test.

Please join me in praying for these babies for the next 10 days at 10:00.

Transfer is at 3:00 today. Today I am confident, hopeful, peaceful and faithful.

I googled what the number 10 represents in scripture:
It symbolizes fullness, entirety, completness. It usually is used in reference to things earthly. For example, the expression "ten kings" has symbolic reference to all the rulers of the earth collectively. In Revelation 2:10, the reference to "tribulation ten days," indicates that God's servants would be fully tested

The Number Ten in the Bible
It has been already pointed out that ten is one of the perfect numbers, and signifies the perfection of Divine order, commencing, as it does, an altogether new series of numbers. The first decade is the representative of the whole numeral system, and originates the system of calculation called "decimals," because the whole system of numeration consists of so many tens, of which the first is a type of the whole.
Completeness of order, marking the entire round of anything, is, therefore, the ever-present signification of the number ten. It implies that nothing is wanting; that the number and order are perfect; that the whole cycle is complete.
