Well come to find out, we can only send Marie gifts in 6 by 9 envelopes...so I just had to buy a bunch of envelopes! We're going to make that little girl so happy in a couple of weeks when she gets all this in the mail. It consists of crayons, headbands, tshirts, shorts, stickers, candy, notepads, bookmarks, notecards, and sunglasses. We also sent a card introducing ourselves with some pictures of us. I asked her what her favorite food is, what her sisters and brothers and parents names are, etc. I told her we're so excited for the opportunity to build a relationship with her, and that we would be praying for her and her family and that God will meet their needs. I asked her how we can be praying for her. When she writes us back, I'll post it on the blog so you can join me in praying for her. I also found out that we can email her (world vision will pring off the emails and give to her). We also learned taht if we choose to in the future, we can meet her in person too!
I know it may seem like a simple decision to sponsor Marie, but I consider that it is the beginning of something much greater. We're planting seeds of hope in the heart of God's precious child. She is a child in desperate need. I'm so excited to be blessed by a newfound friendship.
I can't imagine how excited she will be when she opens these gifts!!
