13 Weeks and Feelin' It!

I wanted to share what an awesome moment was captured the other week. My sister Whitney and niece Aydia went with me when I got my 12 week maternity pics done. They weren't there for pictures, just to stand by and help. Greg the photographer did capture one candid pic of them though! This was not a planned photo...just a candid shot! See the pics below.

Wrapped around your mommy's leg, is a safe place to stand. You cant get much closer to the safest haven you were formed in.Your moms legs carried you while God was forming you. And they are also bent every night in prayer, over the miracle they have been entrusted with.

Whitney just happened to run across the picture of her a few days later at her house. How crazy is that?! They have their hands folded the same way...pig tails...their hair even parts at the same spot...holding onto the mothers same leg...same knees bent...same shy face...and exact same AGE! It just goes to show that your children's mannerisms, looks, etc are more like you than you think!

I'm 13 weeks today, and I am feelin' it! I made a promise to myself that if I ever was pregnant that I would never post about the complaints of morning sickness because I remember how hard it was for me to read those posts when I would give anything in the world to be pregnant and would read other's posts and it seemed like they complained more than knowing how blessed they were. So...let me start this off by stating that I would be sick every day for a year, if I knew I would be pregnant in return! With that said...the morning sickness has set in. I thought I would be in the clear once hitting 13 weeks, but at about 12 weeks 3 days it really set in! I thought I had caught a virus, but now after 5 days of throwing up and feeling nauseous any time I step out of my bed (yes I'm in bed all day long) I've accepted the reality that its the pregnancy. NOTHING sounds good to eat at all throughout the day. It's actually worse at night time than the morning. I'm doing the ginger-ale and the ginger snap cookies (gross), and I'm really trying anything before turning to nausea medicine. I will if I have to, but I hope I don't. I decided if I get sick more than once a day then I will get some medicine, but until then I'm going to try to get through this without it.

It's not stopping me from gaining weight though! I've gained 8 pounds already! My stomach seems about the same size (probably because I've been getting sick). By now my babies are about 3 inches long and weigh nearly an ounce each. Their tiny, unique fingerprints are now in place. Facial features are becoming more clearly defined. The eyes and ears have reached their final positions. The brain is developing rapidly. The first hairs of the baby's scalp and eyebrows often appear at this stage. Your baby's intestines are migrating from the umbilical cord into his or her abdomen. The villi are also forming in the intestines, these help in peristaltic movements and digestion. The pancreas of your little one is even secreting insulin! Meconium-the baby's first stool, is developing. All 20 teeth have formed.

I hope I get to feeling better soon, but remember I'm not Complaining!! We have our appt with the specialist next Wed. Please pray for good news, and for me to have peace because I am already getting very nervous!

  6. Love the pics...amazing! Aydia looks so much like Whit, but I see a lot of you in her too!

Morning sickness is the pits, but like you said, it's worth it in the end. I was always sicker in the evening too. I voted for a boy and a girl...there's got to be a girl in there with all of the morning sickness you're having. It's an old wives tale, but it seems to be true pretty often!

Love you Kacey and I'm praying diligently for you and your sweet babies! I can't wait to meet them!!

  7. Hi there,
I stumbled upon your page from another site a few weeks ago and I wanted to say that your site is really an inspiration to others!
I think we have a lot in common - I too had a complete septate uterus - had 2 miscarriages due to low progesterone.
I finally conceived my daughter after 6+ years of trying. She is now 17 months.
I am TTC my second now - and hoping to have a little easier journey, Lord willing
I am glad you have made this blog to be that inspiration to others like you and in the same boat.
Congratulation and I will continue to pray for you and your babies!
    Charis
