12 Weeks! End of 1st Trimester!!!

I can't believe I'm 12 weeks! This is a huge milestone for me! Today is me and Dustin's 5 year anniversary!!! I woke up to flowers and a sweet card this morning. I feel so blessed at this moment knowing that after 5 years of marriage we are starting our family. Family of 4 that is!

Wednesday I had my appt with Dr. Daum. The babies are getting so big!! The smaller baby (baby A for now) is only 2 days behind now! The bigger baby is actually measuring 1 day ahead now! The only concern is that the smaller baby's sac is still very small compared to the bigger baby's sac. He wants me to see a neonatologist just so we can get a 2nd pair of eyes on this from the beginning. I know its very common for a twin pregnancy to see a neonatologist early on. I'm glad to get another opinion on this. I asked Dr. Daum..."I'm still going to have 2 babies, right?" and he answered "Oh yes". Our appt with the specialist is set for May 19th. I then will see Dr. Daum on June 2nd and we'll find out the sexes!!!

At the appt, the smaller baby gave me and Dustin a shot eye view between his/her legs...so much that I was like..."Am I not supposed to see this?!" The baby moved quickly and the Dr. didn't even see it b/c he wasn't looking at the screen. It looked like a ball sac (sorry tmi)...not a penis, but definitely something! I don't know if this is what boys or girls look like at this stage. Dustin and I watched the DVD when we got home, and we can't tell which it would be. We decided that the night of June 2nd we'll have our friends and family over and we'll watch the DVD together and find out all at the same time (including us) on what we're having! That way we'll get to see the body parts! Both babies were moving around, but the smaller baby (like always) was the most active!! Bigger baby's heart rate was 177 and smaller baby's heart rate was 169.

Yesterday was the National Day of Prayer. Out by Dustin's Grandad's grave there is a huge statue of praying hands. For our 5 year anniversary, my sister Whitney had the idea of taking a picture of me by this statue holding my belly and giving it to Dustin. They turned out really cool! These pictures are a symbol of what is going on in my head every day. Even more special, they were taken steps away from where Grandad's body lays. He knew we were having twins, and I know he's watching over us too!

I cherish each and every day that I carry our children in my belly. I know 12 weeks may seem a little early for belly shots, but Greg Petty Photography (gregpettyphotography.com) said that he would like to take belly pictures of me throughout my pregnancy! If you want to view all the photos go to his website and click on clients and then K Pierson. I'm going to do them at 12 weeks, 22 weeks, and 35 weeks. So instead of me posting the regular belly shots I've been posting each week; for this special 12 week milestone here are some of the photos he took yesterday. He does an AWESOME job! Thanks again Greg!!

Me holding my Faith, Cross, Miracles, Mom charm!

Please continue to pray for our sweet angel babies!! Pray specifically for the smaller baby's sac to grow.
