I Have Been Blessed!

Lots to catch up on, and sorry for the late post!! First and foremost we had our Dr's appt with Dr. Daum Wed at 11:00. After speaking to a few friends who have had twins and all of them at one point and time measured smaller than the other one, I already was feeling better about our appt. As we're waiting, we're told that the Dr. had to go deliver a baby and wasn't sure if he'd be back and we might have to reschedule...(oh no I'm thinking). But, luckily he did come back after about 45 minutes. Up on the chair I went and in went the wand. I grabbed hold of my charm necklace, and went straight to saying my favorite scripture (Seek the kingdom of God first and all things shall be added to you). Also on April 21st (the same day) my daily devo reads...Seek First God's Kingdom-When you pursue Jesus and His righteousness given to you as a git, everything you need will be added to you! Unbelievable!!! Right away the smaller baby (he's calling it Baby A now because it's implanted lower left hand side of my uterus) popped up on the screen, but he/she looked a lot bigger! This baby was moving its arms and legs like crazy...Dustin said it looked like it was kungfoo fighting :) The baby measured 5 days behind...just like last time. This baby has always measured 5 days behind. As long as that gap of days doesn't get bigger, then the baby is growing at the same rate! He even said the sac looked bigger to him. He then moved to the larger baby (Baby B that is implanted more towards the top right side of my uterus). Baby B measured right on target! Dr. Daum said the comparison in size of their sacs is still a different, but his concern has gone way down! He said we'll just keep a look every 2 weeks, and to have faith, and congratulations!!! Whew, I was so happy!! Dustin was smiling ear to ear. Every time the Dr. does an ultrasound he has a machine that makes dvd's of each ultrasound...so we can go home and share our videos with family and friends! Their heartbeats were...Baby B (larger baby) 175, and Baby A (smaller baby) 179. Next appt will be Wed May 5th at 10:45 and I'll be 12 weeks. Below are some of the sono pics and a short 30 sec video...

Yesterday I turned 10 weeks!

I have gained 4 lbs already :( Latest developements: Your babies are now about 1 ½ inches long and weigh about 5 grams, they resembles the shape and size of a peapod. Hormones may be raging for you at this point, and you may feel sad and tearful one moment and happy the next. This emotional roller coaster is normal and it will even out some over the next few weeks. Even though it is very difficult to discern the sexes of your babies by ultrasound at this point, the genitals are forming. Your baby’s brain is forming 250,000 neurons every minute. Brain development is very rapid at this time. The head is upright and your babies can turn their head, open their mouth, smile and practice breathing. The outer ear is completely formed and the inner ear is nearly complete. The intestines begin moving from the umbilical cord to the abdomen and all the vital organs are formed and starting to work together. The lungs are continuing to develop. The arms and legs are well formed and fingers and toes are not webbed any longer. All of your baby’s joints are formed, so they can bend their fingers and make a fist. They can kick and curl up their toes. Eye color is also determined by this point. Placenta begins to function this week or next - The placenta is the organ responsible for both the provision of nutrients along with the removal of waste to keep your baby growing strong! Your babies are now called fetus's in "medical terms". You, however, may have chosen the name "peanuts," "angels," "jumping beans" or simply "miracles." (that's my pick!) My Dr's company name is called Mansfield Miracles...appropriate, right? The most critical part of your infant's development is complete. Now you are headed into a period of rapid growth!

The night before our appt on Wed, we made plans to go eat dinner with 2 couples at my favorite restaurant...Suzushi! We go to Suzushi about once a week, and we love the whole staff there. In fact when I got pregnant, I filled out my order and wrote at the top "I'm having a baby roll"...our waitress started screaming and went to share the news with the other staff members. They knew we had been trying for a long time. The manager then came over and wanted to take a picture of us, and they put the picture along with my order sheet up on their wall and wrote a note saying "long time customer of ours trying to have a baby and we been praying for them and now they are pregnant!" Its so funny when our friends go eat there and call us because they see our picture on the wall :)

Anyways, Tues night Dustin drops me off at the restaurant at the front door while he goes and parks the car. I walk in and as soon as I open the door..."SUPRISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I was so shocked!!!! All of our close friends and family were there (35 people) and there were pink and blue balloons, pink and blue cupcakes, the works! They had put this together for us to celebrate our miracles and give us support with our upcoming appt. They weren't expecting for me and Dustin to walk in seperatly so we had to do the SUPRISE again when Dustin walked in! He was SOOOOO suprised!!! I just feel overwhelmingly blessed with the awesome friends and family we have. I couldn't believe they did all this for us! It was such an awesome night that I will never forget! Even to make it more special, my sister Whitney gave me a gift and inside was a blanket and pillow that my late "Granny" who died in 1996 made for our 1st born (her great grandchild) along with a note from Granny that was pinned to it!!!! The note was written in 96' the same year she passed! She had it up in her closet seemingly placed there for us to find. This is so special to me, and I could feel her prescense there. My sister Haley led a prayer at the end with everyone standing up in the middle of the restaurant that we had taken over. This was also so special to me! Needless to say after this night, the next day I felt so much more at peace going into my Dr's appt. The song that comes to mind is Martina McBryde's song "I Have Been Blessed". (Lyrics: I have been blessed, and I feel like I've found my way. I thank God for all I've been given, at the end of every day, I have been blessed!)
Dustin walking in..."SUPRISE!"
Me walking in..."SUPRISE!"

  6. So sweet of your friends! AND the babies look great!! :) Don't worry about the 4lbs. gain. I'm sure you've figured out with two babies growing you'll need to put on more weight than an avg one baby pregnancy. Lucky for you though, you won't have to carry until 40 wks. I think they typically take twins around 36 wks. Yay babies!
